If you need sharp, well-written copy for brochures, websites, newsletters, exhibitions, interpretive panels - or anything else - look no further.
The research and writing process can also answer questions such as:
what are you offering that your competitors aren't?
how can you put across complicated material to your audience?
how can you fit all that information into one small report?
how can you grab your readers?
There are many occasions when calling in a professional writer can be a good investment. I can handle just about any subject matter and will create copy tailored to your readers or browsers. As one client, with whom I've worked for many years and over three business sectors, puts it:
"Unlike many writers of my experience, Eleanor has the ability to write across a wide spectrum of subjects, from communicating serious and complex business issues in a clear and compelling manner, through to entertaining pieces written with a light touch and lots of style. " Roy Beadle, Communications Manager, British American Tobacco
The Booksellers Assocation (BA) decided to reformat their annual report - and I worked with them to develop and write Bookselling and the BA 2009, a sleeker, sharper review of the year. It features fewer, but better targeted, words, quotations from industry leaders and case studies of independent booksellers. Contact me for a copy of the document.
The National Trust's London Links project brought together heritage and learning, using NT houses around London as venues and sources of inspiration for a range of community and school art projects. I co-ordinated the project and wrote the accompanying brochure (full document 2.2MB) and exhibition.
Factsheets I wrote for the health sector charity Arthritis Care were recently commended for their clarity in the British Medical Association Patient Information Awards 2009 - the factsheets are good examples of how my writing can condense complex clinical or technical information to a simple format for readers of varying ability (example factsheet, 40KB). I also regularly write articles for the charity's flagship magazine (example article, 61KB).
Writing Oxford Brookes University's glossy positioning document, Future Directions, meant taking a cumbersome, internal strategy document and pulling out key points to create a forward-looking and inspirational read for the University's many audiences. I worked closely with the designer to ensure the images, layout and text combined for maximum impact (full document 388KB).
Working with the Travel Foundation's editor, I structured and wrote the organisation's most recent Annual Review (full document 835KB). The Foundation helps major tour operators support local communities and develop sustainable travel business.
